Rachel Skradski - Founder, designer, and maker behind Hide Society
Hi, I'm Rachel, the founder, designer, and maker behind Hide Society.
Hide Society began with a simple curiosity and quickly grew into something much bigger. What started as a creative hobby became a passion for designing and handcrafting leather goods that are meant to be used, loved, and passed down for years to come.
I've always been drawn to creating. Whether I'm designing a space, taking on a new DIY project, or sketching my next handbag, I find joy in bringing ideas to life with my own hands. Leatherworking became the perfect outlet for that creativity. It combines craftsmanship, problem-solving, design, and patience in a way no other hobby ever has.
Over the years, my work has been featured on the runway at Kansas City Fashion Week, where I had the opportunity to showcase original leather handbag collections alongside talented designers from across the region. Those experiences challenged me creatively, strengthened my design process, and reinforced my passion for creating pieces that are both functional and timeless.
Every Hide Society piece is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted in my workshop using high quality leather and materials chosen to stand the test of time. From cutting every pattern to burnishing edges, hand stitching, setting hardware, and applying the finishing details, each piece is made one at a time with care and intention.
As my skills have grown, so has my commitment to quality. I've invested countless hours learning the craft and refining my process, along with investing in professional tools and techniques that allow me to create products I'm truly proud to put my name on. My goal has never been to make the most bags, it's to make bags that will still be carried years from now.
Based in Omaha, Nebraska, Hide Society has evolved alongside me through every season of life. While the business has grown and changed over the years, the heart behind it remains the same: creating timeless leather goods with exceptional craftsmanship that become part of your everyday story.
Thank you for supporting handmade, small businesses, and the work that goes into every stitch. It means more than you know.
I can't wait to create something you'll carry for years to come.
